  5. The intensity of the light beam is 
  6. controlled by the small knob on the 
  7. base of the unit just to the right of 
  8. the joystick.
  9.  
  10. There is also a small button on the 
  11. base near the light intensity control.  
  12. When this button is held down the 
  13. light intensity goes to maximum.  
  14. This allows one to get maximum 
  15. illumination for a short time without 
  16. leaving the intensity at full strength 
  17. for prolonged periods which can be 
  18. uncomfortable to the patient and 
  19. decrease bulb life.
